Use these tricks with your AI today and watch your output get 10x sharper.
TRICK 01
Give it a role and a scoreboard. Never open with the task. Open with who the AI is and the number or goal it’s accountable for. A role narrows its instincts to the right craft; a scoreboard forces every chat from AI to earn a measurable result. SAY THIS “You’re a direct-response copywriter for my business. Your one goal: a 2% click rate. Every word either earns the click or gets cut.”
TRICK 02
Make it argue. Never take draft one. Draft one is the average of the internet. Make the AI attack its own work like your most skeptical customer, then rewrite whatever fails the attack. Draft two comes back with proof and specifics.
SAY THIS “Critique that draft like a skeptical customer who doesn’t trust marketers. List every weak line, then rewrite each one with proof.”
TRICK 03
Feed it proven winners. Stop letting AI guess what works. If it’s writing copy for you, paste your top three performers, the subject line, the hook, and tell it to clone the structure, not the words.
SAY THIS “Here are my 3 best-performing emails ever. Study why they worked, then write the new one using the same structure and voice.”
TRICK 04
Ask it. Don’t tell it. Reverse-prompting: hand it the goal and make it interview you. “I need to sell more this month. Ask me anything you need to know first.” It asks better questions than you’d think to answer.
SAY THIS “I need to sell more this month. Before you write anything, ask me every question you need, one at a time.”
TRICK 05
Build a live memory. Keep one living doc, your voice, market, offers, numbers, and tell your AI to remember this with each new chat. Ten minutes of setup buys months of saved time and better answers.
DO THIS Create “my-business.doc”: your voice in 3 bullets, your customer, your offers and prices, your current numbers.
TRICK 06
Run playbooks, not one-off prompts. Every recurring job – launches, weekly emails, social posts, and more should become a saved step-by-step recipe you refine each run. One-off prompts leak what you learned; playbooks compound it.
DO THIS Pick your 3 most repeated marketing jobs. Turn each into a saved step-by-step playbook, and improve one step after every run.
TRICK 07
Use specialists. No generalists. You’d never hire one person to run ads, email, and social. Don’t ask one chat to. Give each lane its own specialist with its own role, scoreboard, and winners file. Specialists go deep; generalists average out.
DO THIS Split your marketing into lanes: ads, email, promos, SEO, social. Give each lane its own dedicated setup with tricks 1 through 6
